Hetalia Lying Headcannons

1. America: Really sucks at lying, he stumbles on words, looks to the left, sweats, the whole 9 yards. However, he is pretty good at pranking, especially when he's paired up with Canada. The brothers are unstoppable. He is also really good at acting.
2. France: Is pretty good. He has plenty of experience telling little white lies. But he says that he believes that lying is too petty and he is too mature to lie now. He forgets this believe with England however, and loves to mess with him. The feelings are mutual in that regard.
3. England: Is an excellent liar but he scrunches his eyebrows when he lies, a pretty big tell. Plenty of nations have picked up on it, and his current queen. He also gets really flustered when people catch on.
4. Russia: He never sees the need to lie so he just speaks his mind. If he doesn't want to tell something he just stays quiet.
5. China: He has the most experience but he's pretty blunt. When he wants to though he can make you and even himself believe most anything.
6. Hong Kong: Only really lies to mess with China and England. And they fall for it, every time.
7. Canada: Surprisingly good. He doesn't like to lie though, and only does it out of necessity. He does like to mess around with his brother, causing all kinds of trouble. Unlike his brother he cannot act to save his life.
8. Germany: Depends on the situation. He often wears his heart on his sleeve with emotional matters but when it comes to business or politics he is very good at lying.
9. Prussia: He tells extravagant lies about how strong he is that most people can see through. But with serious things he can be very convincing. For instance, he does a very good job making people believe that his death is not impending.
10. Italy: Not good at lying, especially when he's scared. He feels guilty and starts to blurt out everything.
11. Romano: Very bad at lying. But can see through other's lies very well.
12. Japan: He doesn't like to offend people so he tells many people yes when he really means no. Out of courtesy more than anything, really. With outright lies he is very good but his eye twitches and he goes very quiet afterwards
13. Spain: He doesn't really lie, he's pretty laid back and doesn't feel the need to lie, and doesn't try when he does. He's terrible at card games.
14. Austria: Good at lying...kind of. He'll say a lie with a totally straight face but then will turn around and walk into a pole a second later.
15. Hungary: Is pretty good, she knows how to tell a good lie and how to act the part.
16. Switzerland: Fidgets a lot when he lies.
17. Belgium: She likes to tease and might lie a few times but there isn't ever any any maliciousness in it.
18. Netherlands: He can tell some big fibs and have the whole room hanging on every word he says.
19. Liechtenstein: Doesn't tell lies very much. When she tries to she gets very flustered.
20. Australia: It isn't his policy to lie,he likes to be known as an honest person. But he does like to pull on the legs of visitors-"Oh yeah that's super dangerous, you were bit by it? Crikey! You've got two hours at most. Just kidding, haha! But seriously, you should probably go to the hospital."
21. Estonia: Can be very smooth, Latvia and Lithuania call bullshit on him often though.
22. Latvia: He shakes when he lies. He tends to just blab the truth eventually.
23. Lithuania: Depends. Any other day he isn't very good at it but when someone is in danger or if things are pressing then he can be very, very, good. Russia is really the only one to call him out on those.
24. Belarus: Extremely good. Except with her brother. She can't tell him anything but the truth.
25. Norway: Very good. He's pulled the wool over many people's eyes. No one can get past him either.
26. Sweden: To those who don't know him very well he's very hard to read but for people who do know him they can tell he looks nervous when lying.
27. Finland: In his younger days he had to lie plenty so he is pretty good. But times have changed and so has he so he avoids lying. He has trouble lying to Sweden though.
28. Sealand: Has the lying skills of a child. Which is to say no skills at all. When they are they are rather extreme and only the most gullible nations believe him.
29. Denmark: Back in the old days, his Viking days, he used to be quite the malicious liar but he's mellowed out quite a lot. Now he's pretty honest and only jokes around. He's lost his touch with lying but he doesn't mind.
30. Iceland: He thinks he's pretty good at lying but is pretty obvious when he is, especially to those who know him (the Nordics).
31. Turkey: He jokes around so much that no one really knows when he's lying or telling the truth. He's a bit on the mysterious side and his ability to lie helps.
32. Seychelles: She's very mischievous. She's good at telling a few white lies for a prank and can bluff very well.
33. Cuba: He doesn't like to lie and he doesn't like it when other people lie. He thinks it's rude and below him. The only time he would ever consider lying is in political matters.
